"This clip by DNews could be perceived as a bit of a disappointment – no self-building space station is evident throughout the entire two minutes and 24 seconds of video. However, something much smaller – a self-folding cube printed using intelligent polymers – provides a tantalising glimpse of what could be possible within the construction industry further down the line. Skylar Tibbits’ concept brings to mind visions of entire housing developments unfolding and expanding like a vast complex of bouncy castles… the age-old instruction “just add water” could take on a whole new meaning in the coming decades"
